SEI Wealth Platform Certification Program Builds on 2015 Success With New Curricula in 2016
With Increasing Market Demand for an Enterprise-Wide Wealth Management Solution, SEI Adds New Curricula and Additional Certification Designations to the Program
OAKS, PA -- (Marketwired) -- 03/01/16 -- SEI (NASDAQ: SEIC) announced today the expansion of the company's SEI Wealth Platform Certification Program. The program is part of the company's established efforts to provide the necessary skills and knowledge required to seamlessly implement and operate the SEI Wealth Platform (SM) (the Platform). Upon obtaining their certification, third-party professionals have a preferred opportunity to be hired or retained by SEI or their Platform clients on related projects. The SEI Wealth Platform is a next-generation, fully-integrated, services-based solution, designed to support the entire wealth management enterprise. Since the inception of the Certification Program in March 2015, SEI has completed five certification classes, with participation from 12 third-party partner firms. To date, over 55 individual consultants, have been certified and half of the 12 partner firms have already been engaged on Platform-specific projects.
"The wealth management industry is evolving at an unprecedented rate and technology will be a key enabler for visionary firms who want to compete and grow in the future," said Al Chiaradonna, Senior Vice President, SEI Wealth Platform, North America Private Banking. "SEI has invested significantly in the future of wealth management technology, and we are now growing a program that will help scale market delivery of our solution. Our Certification Program provides third-party consultants with the expertise to support clients as they transition to and utilize the SEI Wealth Platform. Based on the success we experienced in our first year, we are excited to grow and offer an even stronger program in 2016."
The recent expansion of the Certification Program is the result of increased interest in the Platform, which currently has significant relationships with 27 private banking and wealth management firms globally. Of the 27, SEI has installed six organizations in the last 24 months specifically in the United States, bringing the total number of U.S. operational clients to nine. Additionally, there are another four clients signed and in various stages of implementation.
When the Certification Program launched last year, it focused solely on training and certifying consultants who were interested in a basic, foundational understanding of the Platform. In 2016, new certification opportunities will be added for consultants interested in obtaining a deeper expertise in areas including Platform project management, business readiness, management reporting and systems integration. The "Foundations" curriculum will be a required prerequisite in order to apply for and obtain any additional certifications.
SEI will now also be offering the "Foundations" curriculum online, making certification more convenient for individual consultants and their sponsoring partner firms. While the "Foundations" certification curriculum will be offered online later this year, the majority of the new curricula will still include on-site training at SEI's Oaks, Pa. headquarters.
"The Certification Program provides third-party consultants with extensive knowledge and expertise about our solution, which increases their value on an SEI Wealth Platform project from day one," said Tracy Jankus, Leader of the SEI Wealth Platform Certification Program. "We expect that the more extensive curricula will not only encourage our current certified partner firms to add more individuals to the program, but also attract additional interest from new partner firms."
Graduates of the Certification Program will also be among an elite group of consultants who will be considered for potential roles on Platform-related projects and migrations. SEI has also begun to rollout a similar and expansive Client Training Program. This program was designed to help clients benefit from the entire breadth of capabilities offered through the Platform. Much like the Certification Program, the Client Training program equips SEI's clients with convenient and ongoing e-learning and development through a robust and innovative experience.
