SEI Selected as Fiduciary Manager for Draka UK Pension Plan Following KPMG Review

Draka UK Utilises KPMG's Detailed Review Process to Identify SEI as the Best Provider for the Needs of the Pension Plans

LONDON -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 10/13/11 -- SEI (NASDAQ: SEIC), a leading global provider of fiduciary management, today announced that it has been hired by the trustees of the Draka UK Pension Plan (Draka) to provide fiduciary management services for the defined benefit pension plan, representing approximately £60 million in assets. The decision by Draka's trustees came following a formal review process of fiduciary managers conducted by KPMG Investment Advisory.

Draka's trustees decided to engage a fiduciary manager to increase the overall effectiveness of the pension plan's management. Draka's trustees wanted to implement a process that allowed for more fluid changes to the portfolio and could effectively protect improvements in funded status by managing liability risks on an ongoing basis.

KPMG, which offers services to advise pension funds on the selection and ongoing monitoring of implemented consulting arrangements, was appointed by Draka's trustees to provide advisory services including an independent review of fiduciary managers for Draka to consider. KPMG assisted the trustees in managing a request for proposal (RFP) and individual site visits.

SEI was selected over other companies following an extremely thorough review process. Reasons for SEI's selection include the company's extensive track record in providing fiduciary management services, as well as an overall focus on client service that provides ongoing advice and trustee training.

Commenting on the appointment Alex Carter, Draka Trustee & Finance Director of Draka UK Limited, said:

"The trustees of Draka's pension decided to appoint a fiduciary manager because we were keen to find a governance approach which would allow us to de-risk the pension plan and more effectively manage the assets against the liabilities. KPMG provided us with a detailed review and significant advice around the evaluation of fiduciary managers. We chose SEI because of its track record in delivering fiduciary management globally over a significant time period and the strength of their proposition in the UK."

Commenting on the appointment, Patrick Disney, Managing Director of SEI's Institutional Group for EMEA, said:

"Draka's decision to appoint a fiduciary manager shows that its trustees are at the forefront of the industry when it comes to management of the pension plan. Additionally, hiring a reputable partner such as KPMG, to assist in the search process is a demonstration of Draka's trustees' commitment to improving the plan management process. SEI appreciated working with KPMG through this process. Furthermore, we look forward to working with Draka in achieving their goals of effectively managing the pension's funded level and protecting the long-term health of the plan."

Commenting on the appointment, Head of Investment Advisory at KPMG, Patrick McCoy, said:

"Deciding to appoint and then selecting a fiduciary manager is very significant decision for trustees to make. It is important to carefully consider the full universe of managers due to the wide range of approaches offered and then undertake thorough due diligence as trustees would for any fund manager appointment. We are delighted to have been able to help the Draka trustees appoint SEI."
