SEI Chosen by Nicholas Investment Partners to Provide Turnkey Total Operations Outsourcing
Nicholas-Applegate Founders Leverage SEI's Infrastructure to Jumpstart New Venture
OAKS, Pa., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SEI (Nasdaq: SEIC) today announced that it has been selected by Nicholas Investment Partners to provide a turnkey outsourcing solution for the firm. The deal represents an ongoing outsourcing trend in which money management firms are outsourcing back office and administrative functions to leverage infrastructure, scale and technology, which allows them to focus on investment professionals and competencies. Nicholas Investment Partners was formed by Nicholas-Applegate founder Art Nicholas and former Global Chief Investment Officer Catherine Nicholas.
Under the agreement, SEI will provide Nicholas Investment Partners with a full range of integrated services including portfolio accounting, performance measurement, comprehensive reporting, business continuity and disaster recovery. SEI's ability to provide a scalable and integrated offering, as well as its extensive experience, were pointed to as key factors in the selection process.
"As a growing asset management firm, it's critical for us to be able to focus on the investments and not the operational aspects of our business," said Greg Gleeson, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Nicholas Investment Partners. "Working with SEI gives us the confidence of knowing that we've got a best-in-class technology and infrastructure that not only fits us today but one that has the ability to scale with us as we grow in the future."
"We're seeing more and more emerging asset management firms going to an outsourced model," said John Alshefski, Head of Business Development for SEI's Investment Manager Services division. "We've got proven infrastructure and processes that provide institutional credibility and scalability, which allows them to focus on growing their core business. We're pleased to partner with icons like Art and Catherine Nicholas as they look to build another extremely successful venture."
